UMBRIA

WALKING FOR THE OLIVE OIL CITIES
Exclusive extra virgin oil with a low grade of acidity, this olive oil comes from the excellent olive trees found in the region:
Maraiola, Lecina, Frantoio, Agogia, Pendolina and a few other species; the Umbrian olive oil can be considered Italy's best because of its delicate and delicious flavour. Its high quality is due to the pedoclimatic region and the special processes used in harvesting and grinding the olives. Umbrian olives are easily digestible and contain a high nutritional value. Only 75,000 tons of olive oil is produced in Umbria.
All the oil produced in Umbria receives from the state "D.O.P" recognition. This recognition means that the oil is of the highest possible level of quality.
Travelling throughout the Umbrian olive oil cities you will certainly run into the numerous oil farms where you can both purchase and sample the typical offerings. Particularly one can try the Umbrian "bruschetta" speciality.
