The exhibition takes place for the celebrations for the five hundredth anniversary of the death of the Renaissance painter Pietro Vannucci known as "il Perugino", from 4 March to 11 June 2023, at the National Gallery of Umbria, in Perugia. Perugino is the greatest painter active in all of Italy in the last twenty years of the fifteenth century and this exhibition celebrates his greatness with the display of the main works prior to 1504. In evidence the fresco "The Marriage of the Virgin" which returns to Perugia after more than 200 years (transported to France by Napoleonic troops and today in the MusĂ©e des Beaux-Arts in Caen) and other frescoes on loan from the Louvre in Paris and other world-famous museums.
The Sangallo Palace Hotel is inspired in its furnishings and decorations by Perugino's paintings, and is the ideal place to stay and visit the grandiose exhibition dedicated to Pietro Vannucci.
In less than 10 minutes on foot you can reach the National Gallery of Umbria, site of the exhibition. This walking route allows to visit the Rocca Paolina and Corso Vannucci, leaving the guest immersed in the art and beauty of the historic center of Perugia
